The Newberg City Council met on May 3, 2021. Approved Resolutions: 2021-3742, Extension of local emergency 2021-3731, Approving Taste Newberg business plan and budget Approved Ordinances: 2021-2876 and 2021-2877 Comprehensive Plan changes involving the Riverfront Master Plan and updates for Wastewater and Water. Appointed members to the Newberg Urban Area Management Commission. In other business, Proclaimed May 2021 as National Historic Preservation month, and May 9-15 as National Economic Development Week. Heard presentations on state legislature from Rep. Bill Post and Sen. Kim Thatcher, City’s NEOGOV software, and Stormwater Master Plan. Heard activity report from City Manager. Held Executive Session on City Manager performance. Heard from residents on the Willamette Falls Landing Heritage Area Coalition, and neighborhood firepits and concern over enforcement by Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue District.
