The Newberg City Council met on June 5, 2017 and took the following actions: ● Approved Resolution 2017-3378, approving $345,690 for Keller & Associates contract to complete Wastewater Master Plan. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3370, approving $479,727 for James W. Fowler contract for Wastewater Treatment Plant Oxidation Ditch rehabilitation. ● Approved Resolutions 2017-3371 and 2017-3372, regarding State Revenue Sharing and provision of municipal services. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3373, adopting the City Budget for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 in the amount of $97,403,431. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3381, Supplemental Budget # 2 for Fiscal Year 2016-2017, making minor organizational changes for a net decrease of $81,441 in appropriations. ● Approved Ordinance 2017-2816, adopting the 2017 Water System Master Plan. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3376, approving the Water SDC methodology and decreasing the charge. ● Approved meeting minutes for May 2, 2017. In other business, City Council: ● Continued a public hearing on Ordinance 2017-2815, Dutchman’s Ridge Annexation to June 19. ● Heard an update on the Buildable Lands Inventory as part of the Newberg 2030 Project. ● Received a petition from citizens to refer a charter amendment to voters related to the proposed annexation with the TVF&R District. ● Heard from citizens opposed to removal of oak trees on Villa Road. ● Heard from a citizen about the TVF&R proposed annexation and concern over public outreach. ● Heard an update from KLYC Radio on a new internet based station for Newberg called “Pulse”.
