The Newberg City Council met on December 4, 2017 and took the following actions: ● Declared December 4, 2017 as Water Polo Team Day in recognition of the achievements by the Newberg Boys and Girls water polo teams. ● Approved Resolutions 2017-3421 and 2017-3425, certifying election results. ● Re-appointed multiple committee members to several committees ● Appointed new committee members Shannon Eoff to Affordable Housing Ad-Hoc Commission, Robert Ficker to Planning Commission, and Robert Griffin to Transient Lodging Tax Ad Hoc Committee. In other business, the Council: ● Heard from citizens on the Traffic Safety concerns on Highway 219 and side streets. ● Heard from citizens about the potential sale of the Newberg Animal Shelter building. ● Held a work session on Long Range Financial Planning. ● Held an executive session on Labor Negotiations regarding the Public Works union contract.
