Subject: Townsend Farms EDB Scope of Work

Hi Paul,

During our meeting last October with DEQ, we presented some of our preliminary research regarding the occurrence of EDB in ground water at Townsend Farms and selected City of Fairview wells. At the conclusion of our EDB discussion, I recall that you suggested that we present our findings in a report for DEQ review. This is precisely the scope of work that we have been contracted do by TFI. In this regard, we plan to prepare a report of the following:

• * a description of the hydrogeology of the area, drawing upon maps and cross-sections to show the hydrogeological setting of the affected wells;
• * tables and plots of all available EDB ground water data;
• * historical and anecdotal information regarding pesticide use at Townsend Farms and vicinity;
• * historical land use at Townsend Farms and vicinity;
• * potential sources of EDB;
• * a summary with our conclusions regarding the source(s), and recommendations for further assessment, if deemed necessary.

We propose that this report be the basis for DEQ's evaluation.
