Historic Landmarks Commission Notice of Public Hearing October 22, 2025 HLC 223-25: City of The Dalles The City of The Dalles is proposing a public plaza on Federal Street between First and Second Streets in the Commercial Historic District. Plans include shaded seating, landscaping, an interactive water feature, and other amenities to provide a public gathering space. The project site is located on a recently vacated segment of Federal Street, extending from East Second to East First Street. It is adjacent to properties at 319–323 East Second Street, 401 East Second Street, and 201 Federal Street. The project site is zoned CBC – Central Business Commercial, with a CBC-1 Overlay.
