Item I: Cleaner Air Oregon Toxic Air Contaminant Review and Update Rulemaking (Informational) DEQ will present an overview of the Cleaner Air Oregon program and Risk Assessment process, provide an update on the Air Toxics Science Advisory Committee process, and discuss the proposed timeline for the Toxicity Reference Values rulemaking and implementation. The CAO program regulates emissions of toxic air contaminants from industrial and commercial facilities based on local risks to health. Under the program, health risks are assessed using standards called Toxicity Reference Values, listed in OAR Chapter 340, Division 247. The rules in Division 247 also require periodic updates to the TRVs to ensure they reflect the most up-to-date science. Additionally, these rules direct DEQ to convene and consult with an Air Toxics Science Advisory Committee to develop the TRVs that DEQ will recommend to the commission. Item I Presentation Slides
