Item G: Water Quality Standards Triennial Review and Workplan (Informational) DEQ will present an overview of the recently completed 2024 Triennial Review of the State's Water Quality Standards. Under the Clean Water Act, states must review water quality standards and hold a public hearing at least once every three years. The Triennial Review process will result in a workplan of high-priority projects the water quality standards program plans to complete or initiate between July 2025 and June 2028. Water quality standards set the environmental protection goals for waterbodies; revisions may be needed to incorporate new scientific information and improve beneficial use protection, to comply with federal regulations, or to clarify how to implement existing standards.
