The Newberg City Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday April 7th, 2025, and the following transpired: 1. A Proclamation was made regarding Child Abuse Prevention Month. Deb Bridges, a representative from Juliette’s House accepted the proclamation. 2. Council Authorized the Renewal of Roger’s Landing Lease. 3. Council passed Resolution 2025-3968 to sunset Fund 14 4. Council approved the Semi-permanent Street Closure at the junction of E. Illinois and Main Street. 5. The NURA -CAC River Street plan was discussed; council expressed support of the NURA-CAC plan and gave informal approval to have staff begin to working towards this project goal. 6. City Recorder Rachel Thomas presented the first three chapters of revised Council Rules. Council decided that they would prefer to view the council rules document as a whole and tabled the item for a future meeting. 7. Historic Preservation Commission Chair Bob Woodruff presented the 6-year work plan for the commission. Council approved the work plan.
