City Council met on January 6^th, 2025 and took the following actions:

•  Swore in newly elected Councilor Jeri Turgesen, and re-elected Councilors Elise Yarnell-Hollamon and Mike McBride

•  Made a motion to direct staff to give a 60-day notice to Ruddick & Wood to remove their street seat structure unless the permit can be transfered to a new tenant within that timeline.  

•  Accepted Ordinance 2930 amending the Newberg comprehensive plan map, city of Newberg zoning map, and Newberg municipal code title 15 for the creation of a craft industrial District

•  Appointed Elise Yarnell-Hollamon as Council president

•  Accepted the Committee appointments for Councilors (Staff liaisons, the new assignments are attached to this email)

•  Approved the application for the Certified Local Government Grant for the Historic Preservation Commission

NURA met on January 6^th, 2025 and took the following actions:

-Moved to Appoint Councilor Derek Carmon as Chair of NURA

-Moved to Appoint Councilor Mike McBride as Vice-Chair of NURA

-Moved to Appoint Councilor Robyn Wheatley as Chair of NURA-CAC
