I will try to get you $500,000 for the police facility if you can come up with the balance. I also want to let you know that it is looking good for the $500,000 in ARPA funds for the Bike-Ped project. I should know on that in a week or so.

Dan, can you shed any light on a request for a new police facility in Molalla? The request showed up as a request from the City for wildfire recovery funding, but I don’t have any information. If it was submitted by the City, I need some information asap.

  1. 1. Timeline for construction Hopefully 2022
  2. 2. Funding sources City, Urban Renewal, Ford Family Foundation currently. We can purchase the property, clear and demo the land and complete the design with funding we have today.
  3. 3. Has design work been completed? No
  4. 4. Does the City own the land? Council will be authorizing purchase of land on May 12, 2021.
  5. 5. Total project cost 7 – 8 million total cost
  6. 6. Total requested from the State If we obtain funding to purchase the land ($500,000 - $600,000) or for clearing and demo ($300,000 - $500,000) those funds could be placed into design.
  7. 7. Estimated completion of construction 2022 - 2024
  8. 8. Are you ready to go in the current biennium? Only for purchase, demo and design
  9. 9. Relationship to the wildfires last Fall (I don’t believe the existing facility was damaged in the fires, but there may be some other relationship) Molalla was the epi center for all law enforcement agencies in south Clackamas County during the Wildfires. We had 40 – 50 officers and deputies using our police station and city hall daily as their check-in, briefing, etc. The Police Station and City Hall were severely damaged from smoke and ash as these officers conducted their business during the event.

We are in committee right now preparing to go through the budget requests.
