To clarify, they are working on the crossing at Hezzie Lane. Striping is in and the bases for the new flashing beacons were poured. Hopefully they will have them in place by the end of next week. Thanks.

Hi Dan. Sorry for the delayed response.
I added this intersection to the list of priorities for the Clackamas County Caucus. It is over-shadowed by concerns about the I-205 corridor, but I won’t give up on it.
We should try to meet and talk about the specifics on this issue sometime soon. As you probably know, I am on the Joint Transportation Committee this session, so if we can find out some specifics, I may be able to help. By the way, I had a meeting with ODOT about a month ago to get updates on several projects including the pedestrian improvement project on Highway 211 and I brought up the problem with Highway 213 and Toliver Road. Gerald had told me about the issue. I’ll circle back and see what information they are able to provide now.

Subject: Clackamas ACT - Molalla - Highway 213 and Toliver Road Intersection
Commissioner Savas – The City of Molalla has been working closely with ODOT regarding the Highway 213 and Toliver Road intersection. Having just completed a safety audit we find that this intersection has one of the highest rates of vehicle crashes in Region 1. This intersection is a high priority project in our recently adopted Transportation System Plan and we believe that not only will this project save lives and decrease injuries, but it can be a catalyst for economic development in our region.
This project is part of the projects making up the 12 hot spots competing for the available 13 million. 2 projects are making the cut and Molalla is on the cusp. The City of Molalla is committed to this project and is on record as being willing to take on a large portion of the project cost. We are asking that you do all you can to help promote the project as viable and necessary for funding.
We are happy to meet with you at your convienence prior to the February 25th ACT meeting.
