Attached, for your review, is the report documenting the further investigation and decommissioning of the UST discovered at this property. There were no detections of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil or reconnaissance ground water in any of the delineation borings. After discussing the results in Dylan last month, the tank was decommissioned in place.

Ginny and Dylan, the property owner requested we assist them with their 20-day report. As previously mentioned, he is waiting for approval of a grant that will include funds for decommissioning this tank and subsequent cleanup. He understands the obligation remains, even if the grant is not approved. Attached is the 20-day report. At this time, and as previously mentioned, the tank is empty, so the threat of an ongoing release has been addressed. Let us know if you have any questions. The tank was found during a geophysical survey as part of a Phase II assessment of the property. It is in the ROW under a sidewalk and appears to have long since been abandoned. We assume it is not regulated since we were able to assess the tank and it only contains a small amount of water, but since we have not yet done any additional investigation, we are not 100% certain.

I’m following up on this release so I can get it entered and give you a LUST number.
I just need to know if the historical use of the property/tank was commercial/retail, or farm/personal. That determines if the LUST site is regulated or unregulated.
Whether or not the tank requires a permit is a separate issue.

I can try and phone you on Monday, as I am in the field all day today. However, right now we know very little about this tank and whether it is regulated or not. We are hoping to work with the property owner in the near future to do more exploration to determine its regulatory status of the tank as well as decommissioning options and reach out ODEQ once we have more information.
