The Newberg City Council met by Zoom on January 16, 2024 and took the following actions. Approved Resolution 2024-3915: Declaring a Local State of Emergency and Ratifying Actions in Response to the State of the Emergency. Passed a motion to appoint Abigail Seits to the Planning Commission as a Student Commissioner. Approved Resolution 2024-3914 Authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase of four vehicles and one CAT 410 IT Backhoe in the amount of $412,185.30. Passed Ordinance 2024-2921 Extending the local state of emergency first declared on the 21st day of April, 2022. Approved Resolution 2024-3913 for the adoption of the new Employee Handbook. Made a motion to approve the proposed 2024 Planning Workplan. Nominated and elected Pegggy Kilburg as Council President.
