The Newberg City Council met on October 19, 2020. The Council took the following actions: ● Approved Resolution 2020-3706, CARES Act funding for Project Oasis. ● Continued to Nov. 2 meeting public hearings on Ordinance 2020-2860, Construction Excise Tax, and Ordinance 2020-2869 SDCs. ● Appointed Councilor Coefield to the Pension subcommittee. In other business, Heard from citizens on fire code violations, and a request to clarify building construction hours. Heard presentations from Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Newberg Downtown Coalition. Heard activity report from City Manager, and briefing on Economic Opportunity Analysis. Recognized Citizens Rate Review Committee (25 years) and Historic Preservation Commission (7 years) on their birthdays and acknowledged the contribution of the volunteers.
