The Newberg City Council met on August 17, 2020. The Council took the following actions: ● Appointed Bryce Coefield to the District 4 position on City Council for a term of September 8 to December 31, 2022. ● Approved Resolution 2020-3695, Extension of declaration of local emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic. ● Approved Ordinance 2020-2865, Creation of Urban Renewal Agency. ● Appointed Gabriel Skulec, Shy Montoya, Dominic Seymour, Melissa Dailey, Robert Bonner, Leslie Murray, Irma Vera, Robert Moxley, and Mayor Rick Rogers as Ex-officio to the Middle Housing Citizens Advisory Committee for a term of August 2020 to June 2021. In other business, Heard presentations on Council Goal: Customer Service, Taste Newberg quarterly report, and Economic Opportunities Analysis briefing. Heard activity report from City Manager. Discussed Council assignments. Heard from citizens on Urban Renewal Agency, unsuitability of an applicant for District 4, Public Works Design Standards and a request to not allow a developer to continue shoddy work.
