The Newberg City Council met on April 6, 2020. The Council took the following actions: ● Held a public hearing on rate recommendations from the Citizens Rate Review Commission. Tabled action on the four resolutions for Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, and Transportation Utility Fee until September 21st. ● Approved Resolutions: 2020-3663 – Extended local state of emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic through May 13. 2020-3659 – Approval of $100,000 for Newberg Business Emergency Relief Grants. 2020-3648 – Agreement for planning services with Mid Willamette Valley Council of Governments. 2020-3649 – Contract award to Doolittle Construction for 2020 Pavement work ● Approved Ordinance: 2020-2861, Change in the Consumer Price Index in the Municipal Code. In other business, Appointed Rob Hallyburton to the Economic Opportunities Analysis ad hoc committee. Heard presentations on PGE lights, and state of the district report from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. Heard activity report from City Manager, and committee reports from Councilors Heard from City Recorder about concern of nominating procedure for Elections. Gave direction for Elections chapter of Code to be updated.
