The Newberg City Council met on January 21, 2020. The Council took the following actions: ● Appointed Julia Martinez Plancarte to District 2 position on City Council to be sworn in on February 3, 2020 for a term until December 31, 2022. ● Approved the following Resolutions: 2020-3639, hires of Christopher Kratchovil (Asset Manager), and Dakota Jackson (Engineering Intern –GIS) ● Approved the following Order: 2020-0040, denial of appeal on Partition PAR 19-004. ● Approved the following Ordinances: 2020-2855, incorporation of 2019 Water Master Plan into Comprehensive Plan 2020- 2851, creation of fee in-lieu parking program within C-3 zone In other business, Heard presentation on proposed changes to Waste Management services. Heard activity report from City Manager. Tabled the Willamette Falls Locks funding request to a future meeting. Heard from citizens on improving the public records request process, re-ordering the agenda to have the Issue Tracker earlier in the meeting, recent personnel change at the City, and that Elise Yarnell Hollamon was the Chamber’s citizen of the year. Held interviews of District 2 candidates – Todd Enzor, Stephen McKinney, Kathryn Menninger, and Julia Martinez Plancarte.
