The Newberg City Council met on January 6, 2020. The Council took the following actions: ● Approved Resolution 2020-3638, Appointment of Dan Weinheimer as City Manager effective February 24, 2020. ● Approved Audit report and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for June 30, 2019. ● Approved the following Resolutions: 2020-3636, Murray Smith Contract for Phase 2 redundant water supply work. 2020-3635, MetroWest lawsuit settlement agreement. 2020-3633, E. Crestview Drive right-of-way acquisition. ● Appointed members to the Mayor’s Ad Hoc Urban Renewal, and Economic Opportunities Analysis citizen advisory committees. ● Elected Councilor Johnson as Council President for 2020. In other business, Heard presentation on proposed Construction Excise Tax. Heard activity report from City Manager. Heard from citizens on traffic concerns involving pot industrial processing plant on Mountain Top and Highway 219 outside city limits, personnel issues and lawsuits, city’s future, expectations of City Council, honesty and integrity.
