The Newberg City Council met on November 16, 2020. The Council took the following actions: ● Approved Ordinances 2020-2869, System Development Charge change 2020-2860, Construction Excise Tax 2020-2868, Comprehensive Plan changes for Riverfront Master Plan ● Approved Resolution 2020-3708, Extension of local emergency declaration. ● Appointed members to an Ad Hoc committee to work on plans changes for infrastructure for Urban Renewal. ● Proclaimed November 28 as Small Business Saturday. In other business, Met with Planning Commission in joint session and heard presentation on Transportation System Plan. Heard presentations from Taste Newberg, the NewBERG action plan annual report, and the Newberg Economic Development Strategy COVID-19 priorities. Heard activity report from City Manager. Discussed System Development Charge costs for relocating businesses, and the current increase and spread in Oregon of COVID-19 cases and its impact on the local health system.
