The Newberg City Council met on October 7, 2019. The Council took the following actions: ● Recognized Councilor Mike Corey for his years of service on the City Council. He resigned due to moving outside the city limits. ● Approved several resolutions: 2019-3607, Declaring the District 5 Council seat vacant. 2019-3603, Adopting procedures for the hiring of the City Manager. 2019-3606, Hires of Brittney Jeffries – Administrative Assistant, IT department full time, Jonathan Hodgkins – Operator II, Travis Hyder – Operator II, and Lacey Dygraaf – Community Engagement Specialist. ● Proclaimed October as American Archives Month. In other business, Heard from citizens concerned about climate change. Heard presentations on System Development Charges, Tax Increment Financing, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure. Held an Executive Session on pending litigation. Heard activity report from City Manager. Discussed Council committee and community activities.
