The Newberg City Council met on August 19, 2019. The Council took the following actions: ● Approved several resolutions: 2019-3590, naming of Bob Andrews Way. 2019-3593, roof replacement for Wastewater Treatment Plant. 2019-3581, contract award for dispatch software upgrade. 2019-3586, MOU for Emergency Preparedness with faith based organizations. 2019-3585, Community Visioning Plan. ● Approved Ordinance 2019-2847, murals on public buildings in residential zones. In other business, Heard presentation on Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce quarterly report. Heard activity report from City Manager. City Council will move its meetings Sept. 16th to the Austin Room at the Newberg Library due to the seismic retrofit of the Public Safety Building. Discussed Council committee and community activities. Discussed genderless bathroom signage at City. Discussed Christmas tree lighting issue at Cultural Center.
