The Newberg City Council met on May 20lh, 2019. The Council took the following actions: •Approved several resolutions: 2019-3558 C.R. Contracting LLC for 2019 Pavement Maintenance project. 2019-3533 Visit Newberg agreement for tourism marketing and promotion activities. 2019-3525 Approved Chamber business plan for 2019-2020. 2019-3524 Amended Chamber contract for visitor information services. •Adopted Ordinance 2019-2844, changing definition of student commissioners to include both high school and college students. •Proclaimed May 19-25 ,h as Public Works Week. •Appointed Council subcommittee for City Manager recruitment of Councilors Elise Yarnell Hollamon, Patrick Johnson, and Elizabeth Curtis Gemeroy beginning immediately for the term of one year . Councilor Yarnell Hollamon will serve as chairperson. In other business, Decided on July 22nd as the Council Goal Setting Retreat. Met new TVFR Chief Deric Weiss, and said goodbye to retiring chief Mike Duyck. Heard presentation on Yamhill County mental health services. Heard activity report from City Manager. Discussed Council committee and community activities. Met in Executive Session on Labor Negotiations.
