The Newberg City Council met on October 15th, 2018 and took the following actions: ● Approved the following Resolutions: Resolution 2018-3485, amendment to Council Guidelines and Rules. Resolution 2018-3502, updated Municipal Services Assistance policies. Resolution 2018-3503, authorizing $100,000 from EDRLF to pay for urban renewal study. Resolution 2018-3506, denied refunding fees for a plumbing permit. Resolution 2018-3508, initiated a change to the Code for military banners. ● Approved Ordinance 2018-2840, changing marijuana stores hours of operation. ● Approved Council Minutes from September 4th and 17th, 2018. ● Ratified the Mayor’s appointments to the Housing Needs Assessment Ad Hoc Committee, and assigning Councilor Yarnell-Hollamon to the Cultural District Board and Transient Lodging Tax Committee. In other business, the Council: ● Heard reports from Department directors, the City Manager, annual report from Waste Management, quarterly report from Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce. ● Heard from a citizen on the historical society’s plans to install historical monuments throughout town. ● Discussed Affordable Housing Priorities.
