The Newberg City Council met on July 2, 2018 and took the following actions: ● Accepted resignation of Councilor Matt Murray from District 1. Applications for the position will be accepted until August 31, 2018 with interviews at a September Council Meeting. ● Approved the following Resolutions: Resolution 2018-3482, The Saunders Company contract award for East 5th Street Wastewater project. Resolution 2018-3477, K&E Excavating Inc. contract award for Pavement project. Resolution 2018- 3490, Resignation of Councilor Murray and declaring a vacancy. ● Approved the following Ordinances: Ordinance 2018-2831, adoption of 2018 Wastewater Master Plan. Ordinance 2018-2832 & 2018-2837, Adoption of Accessory Dwelling Units. Ordinance 2018-2836, Increase in Privilege Tax from 5 to 7 %. ● Approved minutes for June 4, 2018 Council Meeting. In other business, the Council: ● Heard from citizen concerned about city’s structural deficit. ● Heard reports from Department Head managers and the City Manager. ● Discussed League of Oregon Cities conference, and legislative priorities. ● Heard an update on the 2018 General Election.
