The Newberg City Council met on August 16, 2021 and took the following actions. Approved Resolutions: 2021-3760, Contract award to Jeff Carter Construction for sidewalks at Scott Leavitt Park. 2021-3761, Housing Trust fond award to Habitat for Humanity for Brush of Kindness program. Reconsidered the vote on Resolution 2021-3762, Referral of measure on Urban Renewal Plan to November 2nd election. This effectively stops all action on the election measure at this time. Approved Mayor's letter to School Board 011 Equity Statement and publication 011 City website. In other business, Heard activity report from City Manager. Heard presentations on Legislative Redistricting, Purchasing Policy update, and Taste Newberg quarterly report. Heard from resident on support of Urban Renewal, and support of School Board's recent action to ban political symbols from schools. Heard from resident on support of Urban Renewal, and request to reconsiders ballot measure. Heard from resident on support of Urban Renewal. Held Executive Session with Judge Blake on annual performance review.
