The Newberg City Council met on June 21, 2021 and took the following actions. Approved Resolutions: 2021-3745, Contract for Alliance Systems – HVAC system 2021-3748, Grant application for housing production strategy 2021-3749, Agreement for planning services with Mid-Willamette Valley COG 2021-3750, Union contract with AFSCME 2021-3740, Contract for sewer cleaning truck 2021-3756, Agreement with Marion County for St. Paul rodeo services for reserve police officers 2021-3753, Increase to contract with Merina+Co for financial services 2021-3732, Contract with Chehalem Valley Chamber for visitor center 2021-3747, Supplemental Budget for FY 2021-22 Approved Ordinances: 2021-2881, Stormwater Master Plan 2021-2882, City Legal Description 2021-2883, Riverfront Master Plan zoning changes for annexations Appointed several members to committees. In other business, Heard presentation and discussed expanding the Urban Growth Boundary. Heard activity report from City Manager. Heard from the public on negative reactions to comments by Councilor McBride on the Pride Month proclamation, discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community in Yamhill County, and personal experiences with discrimination against sexual orientation.
