The Newberg City Council met on February 1, 2021. The Council took the following actions: ● Approved Resolutions: 2021-3715 – Contract award to First Cascade Corporation for the WWTP Admin Remodel Project. 2021-3716 – Contract award to R.L. Reimers Co. for the WWTP Sawdust Structure Project. ● Approved letter of support for HB 2344, a bill dealing with Wet Wipes. ● Formed Council subcommittee to review committee systems. ● Recognized February 2021 as Black History Month. ● Recognized February 5, 2021 as the 47th anniversary of the Newberg Traffic Safety Commission (est. 1974). In other business, Heard presentations on Newberg Economic Development Strategies, Youth ideas for changing committees, and work by the Traffic Safety Commission. Heard activity report from City Manager. Held an Executive Session on Legal Counsel.
