The Newberg City Council met on January 18, 2022 and took the following actions. Gave direction to staff to go with Alternative 1 for Legislative Redistricting. The item will come back for adoption on February 7. Gave direction to staff to pause Elliott Road project while Council and staff meet with neighborhood. Gave direction to staff to proceed with formal declaration of vacancy for District 4. The item will come back for adoption on February 7. Approved Resolutions: 2022-3787, Partition of NE Bell Road property and asked County consider concerns about infrastructure including water and roads. 2022-3782, Purchase of Water Rights from WestRock Northwest LLC. 2022-3789, Approval of City Manager hiring process. In other business: Heard report from the City Manager Pro Tem on January statistics. Heard quarterly report from the City Attorney. Heard presentation on City Manager recruitment process. Heard presentation on future need to replace 70-year old Water Treatment Plant.
