Governor Announces Oregon to Re-Open No Later than June 30

The governor signed a recovery-focused executive order Friday that will lift all remaining COVID-19 health and safety restrictions issued under emergency statutes. Read the governor’s news release and watch the press conference here.

Updated ARPA Reporting Guidance Released

The U.S. Treasury has released new guidance on compliance and reporting that every city will need to follow when they report on their American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) expenditures. Readmore

The LOC has updated its Legal Guide to Collecting Lodging Tax in Oregon. This update specifically amends the LOC’s Model TLT Ordinance by inserting language that allows the Oregon Department of Revenue, if a city so chooses, to act as a city’s tax collector pursuant to ORS 305.620. In updating the Model TLT Ordinance, the LOC worked closely with the DOR and its attorney.

Cities are encouraged to continue promoting the Oregon Emergency Rental Assistance Program (OERAP) for funding to pay rent, rent arrears, future rent and certain home utility costs. Read more

The new program would carry out Governor Brown’s Executive Order 20-04, which includes directives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address the effects of climate change. Read more
