Heintz Street is still in a moratorium but there are provisions for allowing a cut into the pavement. Per our Public Works Standards:

2.7.3 Asphalt Restoration for Streets Listed on 5-Year Moratorium

When emergencies or special circumstances require access to underground utilities, the City may allow street cuts in streets listed on the 5-year moratorium (see Subsection 2.2.34, “Utilities”). In addition to the repair work outlined in Subsection 2.7.2, “Asphalt Concrete Replacement,” an additional mill and inlay shall be required over the repaired area to a point 1-foot beyond the T-cut perimeter.

This section of roadway is about 5” thick. We will require that a 1-foot tee cut be done and install 3” of Level 2, ½” HMAC followed by a 1-foot grind and 2” inlay to seal the roadway. The edges must be tacked and the top joint must be sand sealed. The patch must be completed on the same day and the top lift will be in one continuous paving operation so there are no cold joints.

Sam is our new Sr. Engineering Tech and will be inspecting the paving operations. Let Sam and I know which alternative you want to go with (bore or cut) and then we can discuss schedule. Paving is dependent upon weather and needs to be done before the end of October.

Hi Gerald

Jaison Krueger, our Wave Permit guy has contacted you for permits recently and I am bugging you with a question… Thanks in advance for your time.

At the corner of Center Ave & E Heintz st. there is many utilities that our contractor(Mt. West Util) is concerned about crossing plus the high pressure gas main.

Is there possibility we can open cut the asphalt for our road crossing??

Please let me know, Thanks again
