Hi Andy,

I completely understand your concerns and assure you the program is 100% optional. City of Woodburn, City of Newberg and a bunch of other cities have elected to participate and have found the program flexible, safe and financially beneficial. I’ll wait to hear from you or Gerald, if you would like to meet with a representative from CLEAResult to discuss further. No pressure.

On a different subject, our rates analysts are preparing for our upcoming annual meeting. With the Customer Information System conversion we did last year, we’re expecting to schedule these meeting a little later than usual, I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks,

***Please take care when opening links, attachments or responding to this email as it originated outside of PGE.***

Daniel, thanks. I understand what PGE is trying to do by having customers agree to reduce load during an event in exchange for payment. However, I just read the first 2 pages of your attached agreement and I don’t think Gerald or Dan H would agree to this. I’m not sure this is what you and I discussed in person when you came to me with the proposal the other day. The agreement specifies that

-we will shut down our WWTP when asked by PGE and does NOT specify that shut down is optional,

-eliminates PGEs liability for the equipment you would install,

-refers to another document (schedule 26) as terms of agreement which is not attached,

-does not specify what payment amounts or methodologies the City would receive for the shutdowns we’d be giving you. Unless it’s in the Schedule 26 document?

These are just things I see from the initial read. I don’t think the City is interested in this. I’ll forward your proposal to Gerald (cc), but if we don’t hear back from him I think you can assume he feels the same. Sorry!

Subject: PGE Energy Partner - Load Reduction Agreement

Good morning Andy,

Attached is the City of Molalla’s Load Reduction Agreement. Per our conversation regarding PGE’s Energy Partner Demand Response, please take a look at the agreement and let’s plan a quick meeting to discuss the details of the program and how it may work for the city. I would love for Gerald to be present (if possible) and I will bring Scott Sand from CLEAResult. (they’re helping PGE administer the program)

Let me know when your available to meet or if you have any questions.

Thanks,
