The money for the vehicles will need to go directly into the fleet replacement fund based on an allocation. Dump trucks are 25% over street, sewer, water, and stormwater. Tanker from shops is 100% streets. Tanker from WWTP is 100% sewer. Etc.

Andy – Please go ahead and begin the surplus property and surplus vehicle process.

A review of the code states that we need to ask other departments first before items are surplussed (odd). So quickly do that.

The vehicles need to go to Council first. We need to be cognizant of what they will say and what information they will ask about when we ask them to surplus. Whay can’t we reuse this equipment? How many miles? Is it worth it to repair? I just hate getting rid of good equipment. What are we going to do with the money? Etc.

Good Afternoon Dan,

I’d like to start getting the shop cleaned up, for the sake of safety and to triage our bleeding carrying costs. But I need to make sure I follow the steps. Code that applies is 3.09.040. Toward the end I ask for permission to sort/salvage/scrap certain areas that contain items which are going to take significant effort to even identify. We won’t really know until we dig in.

Do you think this is a good way to proceed?

Thanks!

P.S. I gone done spell check this memo.
