Subject: Emergency Generator

On Saturday, I got a call that the backup generator sounded ‘like it was going to blow up’, during it weekly check cycle. It was not running at a steady idle and was blowing black smoke. I don’t know if the black smoke is normal, but I’m pretty sure the idle issue is not. Fire and I figured out how to turn it off. Would you let the appropriate people know that it may need to be looked at.
