Good afternoon,

Happy Monday! We hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Please keep letting us know how we can assist you, and if there are any particular topics or questions you’d like to be addressed. Here’s today’s update.

COVID-19 National Emergency Work Completion Deadline Extension: The purpose of the attached memorandum is to address the Emergency Work completion deadline for COVID-19 declared events. Pursuant to 44 CFR § 206.204(c)(1), the Emergency Work completion deadline is six months from the disaster declaration date. However, the unprecedented incident period and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitate that emergency protective measures continue beyond the typical deadline. Therefore, the emergency work completion deadline under 44 C.F.R. § 206.204(d) is extended until further notice. FEMA will make notifications prior to the establishment of a deadline for completion of emergency work. See attached memo.

Evacuation & Sheltering Assistance under an Emergency Declaration in a COVID-19 Environment: Due to the added complexities of conducting evacuations and sheltering during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, in limited circumstances grant assistance for evacuation and sheltering may be authorized to states, tribes, and territories under an emergency declaration for an imminent or pre-landfall incident.
