ETART Stakeholders:

Last week the Oregon Wildfire Recovery 2020 Natural and Cultural Resources Task Force presented preliminary findings from the Erosion Threat Assessment and Reduction Team (ETART) via four separate Webinars. If you missed those presentations, or would like to share them with others, they are now available for viewing on the Oregon Department of Forestry’s YouTube Channel:

If you’d like more background on ETART, please consider also watching an overview video by Cara Farr of the USFS. This 18-minute video provides an introduction to the ETART assessment process, along with additional background that may provide helpful context. You may also review a fact sheet about the ETART process.

These fire-specific summaries provide local and state partners with critical information on resource needs towards recovery and mitigation of fire erosion effects. These assessments are part of a larger body of work that also includes assessments on federal lands, as well as local knowledge from tribes and communities, that will be critical to help identify natural and cultural resource recovery priorities. Written reports, supporting maps, and other data from the assessments will be made available in the coming weeks.

If your work requires more timely access to draft ETART reports before the final versions are available, please contact me at Ryan.P.Gordon@oregon.gov.

Thank you,

Ryan
