Gerald,

They’re continuing to ask about looping in additional staff. Would it be worth it to loop in Brenda or Andy for a Weds meeting as they suggest? If not, do you have any questions you’d specifically want answered?

Tomorrow’s meeting in Johnson City is very easy for me to make. It’s on my way home.

Dan:

Per the email below we have you scheduled to attend an NHMP update meeting for Molalla at Johnson City on Tuesday Oct. 23 (2:30-4:30). If preferred we could meet you in Molalla on the morning of Oct. 23 (perhaps 10 am). The meeting will have a similar agenda to that of Johnson City (attached). We will also have time on Wednesday (Oct. 24) after 1:00 if that would work better. It would be best to have additional people attend the meeting if possible.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Jay,

I would be able to make the Johnson City meeting on the 23rd. Please include me in your Emergency Management/Hazard Mitigation correspondence with Molalla.

Thanks!

Hi Mr. Huff,

We’re scheduling NHMP meetings with West Linn on Oct 10 at 10:30 AM and Johnson City on Oct 23 at 2:30PM.

These should only take 90 minutes and will be the only formal meeting necessary for the NHMP update.

Any chance your committee from Molalla could join one of those dates for your meeting too?

Thank you,

Jay

Hello Mr. Huff,

I’m following up on a communication from July for assistance to be provided to Molalla for the 5-year update of your Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (NHMP).

https://dochub.clackamas.us/documents/drupal/dda2cb48-a85f-444c-89f0-d73e9ba3fa09

The County is funding these updates with a FEMA Planning Grant to have Michael Howard with the University of Oregon’s Partnership for Disaster Resilience provide the technical assistance to help cities with the coordination, review, and meetings to get this process accomplished.

I’d like to offer any support or coordination from the County to assist Molalla in convening their Mitigation Plan Committee and scheduling this meeting with Mr. Howard to complete the update in conjunction with the County’s current NHMP update cycle. As a reminder, a current NHMP is required to be eligible for FEMA hazard mitigation assistance.

We are expecting to deliver our draft NHMP for state and FEMA review by the end of September. Our hope is to have our NHMP adopted and approved by the end of the year and before the closing of the 2018 FEMA mitigation grant application period, which closes on January 31st, 2019.

Please contact me with any question or to discuss on more detail. And let me know if there is another point of contact we should be working with in Molalla.

Thank you,

Jay
