Subject: K95 Masks
The FDA issued new guidelines regarding K95 masks. We currently have a mix of K95 and N95 masks issued. In a nutshell the K95 masks are made in China and meet Chinese specifications as respirators. The N95 mask are manufactured in the United States to our standards. The FDA is recommending to discontinue use of the K95 masks as respirator protection, however it can still be used as a face covering. I have placed an N95 mask at everyone’s work station or box. It appears that all the Honeywell masks or K95 if that helps. The type of mask is printed at the bottom outside of the mask. Keep in mind I only have 40 N95 masks the rest are K95, so please take care of them. I have attached a link to the FDA’s order to this email.
