I will discuss with Dan. Though we have the COVID thing going on, we still have a contract to follow and services to provide. Also, the City is not shut down for business or flexed in any way and an emergency has not been declared by Council. Will get back to you.

Gents, I’m sure this flu thing will end soon, but one of my jobs is to keep you full of options. Adam, Ryan H and I sat down with the crew: we believe we can maintain essential services by only having half the crew come in each day. We have a Team A and a Team B already established normally, one team could staff the City on a 5-8s schedule, with the other crew at home but on call. So if team A got sick, Team B would still be healthy. It’s that old army barracks trick of setting up the cots to alternate Head-to-Toe. What we would sacrifice by doing this is instead of completing 300 work orders per month we would drop to 150. Parks, Locates, water leaks, etc would still be handled. Ongoing process improvements would be sacrificed. Not asking for anything, just letting you know what’s possible.
Respectfully,
Andy Peters
