Are you saying, it has been decided and let’s move ahead with the waterline replacement design? If you would let me know for sure I can talk to Curtis?
I hear from other engineers there is a long backlog on plan reviews at DHS. Let’s see what size of waterline the new development put in at 7th where we will tie in?

We did briefly speak to Mike the Superintendent in the field. He said he has the time. We will need to run it past Curtis next.
This would be a change order, and if needed we could add calendar days to the schedule if they can show it will affect the critical path of their schedule.

Here are my thoughts,
It can certainly be replaced, what would this do to the scheduling? Will we be hit with delay penalties? I suppose they can dig the street, rock it, possibly pour the curbs (they will need to tunnel under the curb to make the service connections, I would imagine extra cost for this) and move on to something else until we figure out what to do?
If we decided to replace it, the contractor needs to be notified so he can come up with a different plan to keep going. For design purposes I need to know the limits of the AC pipe, size and what size we will be putting in.
Curb stakes are going in tomorrow….
If the size remains the same we will not need to go to DHS but if larger, yes we do
The cost will depend on the size of the pipe.

Subject: Water Main on Stowers
Hi,
I talked to Garrett regarding the water main that exists on Stowers, it currently is AC. If possible we would like to have the main replaced and abandoned in the ground. I did not realize that it was AC and missed that it was not included in project.
A few points to discuss between all of us timely..
· Was the water main on the previous Stowers project upgraded and if so to what type and size?
· Will this be an upgrade for the second section of Stowers? And if so do we have time to get approval for the upgrade through Oregon DHS?
· What is the cost? And can this be paid under the current SDC methodology?
