Hi Hassan,
I have been on-site the last two days discussing solutions for these approaches. I do not see how to construct the approaches on either side of Stowers without impacting the private driveways to meet the 12% max slope in the detail. The sidewalk or east side is even more difficult to match.
I propose on the west side (with no sidewalk) to construct the driveways at 12% max from back of curb and a 3-foot wing. There are two cases where the property owners must be contacted to discuss how the adjacent concrete/asphalt pad is going to match into the increased 12% driveway slope. We anticipate removing 6-8 feet of the driveways beyond the planned 3 feet from the details.
I do not have a resolution for the east side (with sidewalk) for a three of the driveways. It appears we may need to remove at least the front two concrete panels (~10 feet) of 2 of the driveways and possibly a 10-12 foot section on the extra wide asphalt driveway at 5th and Stowers. These are going to added expenses to the City that was not detailed in the contract plans or estimate.
I will be available after 9-9:30 am to be onsite to review these issues.

The big concern is that we may exceed the right-of-way line to catch the driveway and the cost to keep a maximum 12%. There are adjacent paved parking areas and fences along the side of several of the drives that also become a conflict.

The slope through the driveway on the sidewalk side shall be a maximum of 2%but outside the sidewalk envelope it can be 8% to 12% as shown on sheet C15, detail 3. Please have Barb or Bob make contact with Jenn first. If she can’t be there to assist, I should be able to help. Let me know.

The crew call in and said the driveways sloped at 2% does not match the existing driveways, some are too steep to match the existing.
We need directions how far to cut the existing driveways back, per plan it is 5’ from back of curb.
