Hi Jenn,
Items B-5 and B-6 in the bid defines the cost for sidewalks and driveways, the driveways is only the throat identified as “Driveway Approach Envelope” on sheet C15, detail 4 which is 6” thick while the wings and all other areas behind the approach are part of the sidewalks which is 4” thick.
Assuming the city approves driveway modifications, I prefer we separate the homeowners cost from the city contract and the homeowners work directly with the contractor.
What are your thoughts?

Hi Curtis,
We can do modifications for the driveway. However, we need to confirm any changes to the existing driveways meet allowed widths and set back requirements if adjacent to the property line.
Also, the homeowner will be responsible to share the cost of the additional s.y. that will be added to his/her existing driveway. I see we do not differentiate in the cost per s.y. for sidewalk vs. driveway approach in the estimate, however the driveways can take more time to form properly. In addition, these changes do expend our time to verify the design changes meet code and coordinate the work with you, the contractor.
I have yet to hear back from the homeowners that originally contacted me yesterday, however they will need to work with the City to have the changes approved and share the cost of the work for any additional length.

Hi Hassan,
A home owner @ 406 Stowers Rd. request we give him a 24’ driveway, the plans call for a 12’ driveway.
I talked to Roger Langeliers and driveway drops are $25.00 each.
