Hi Hassan,

We would like you to continue with Main Street – Phase II and Grange & Heintz Improvement projects, beginning construction by mid September. Construction of Stowers can be pushed to Summer 2015.

That is great news with the permit. Hopefully it can be amended.

Regarding all projects, we would like to set up meeting time to go over status and priority for all projects. Is there a good time in the next week you can come out and go over the projects with us?

Current Project List (Begin Construction)

2nd Phase Main Street Sidewalk and Curb (Sept. 2015)

Grange & Heintz – Grind & Inlay, Sidewalks & Curb, Water Main & Storm Sewer (Sept. 2015)

Stowers - Grind & Inlay, Sidewalks & Curb & Water Main (Summer. 2015)

4th Street - 6” Water Main Replacement (Late Fall 2014)

Water Treatment Plant – Flow Reducer for Backwash Ponds (Late Fall 2014)

Hi Jennifer,

We will have the survey for the Main Street sidewalks tomorrow, would you prefer that we keep pushing on Stowers, Grange and Heintz streets project or jump on Main Street sidewalk phase 2. Talking with Mike Keyes, we may be able to amend the existing permit as opposed to issuing a new permit.

Please let us know your thoughts.

Hi Hassan,

Dan is willing to have the city cover the design costs of the water line extension. We will work with the owner to get the cost covered on our end.

Once I receive the electronic copies of the plans I will forward them to you for a cost estimate of the work to be completed.

Thanks,

Jenn

Hi Dan,

I spoke with Hassan and because the request is of the property owner and they are responsible for the cost, it is not in their (Curran-McLeod’s) best interest to act on the behalf of a private development. The alternative is to have the city pay for the engineering of the extension and hydrant, and be reimbursed by MRM.

My understanding of DHS rules are that engineered plans are required for public water mainlines. Since this is a public line it needs to be engineered, in a recorded easement and Hassan should be able to do the plan and review because it is a public line. Just my thought.

It is not shown as private line on MRM plans. It is shown as on an easement. We would maintain ownership and maintenance for the extension and hydrant according to our city municipal code. If this is just an extension do we need to have new plans engineered or just as-builts developed?

Jennifer – Are we sure this is a private line?

We typically don’t get involved in private developments work and especially within the agency/ City that we provide engineering services for. We consider this type of work as a conflict of interest.

Sorry…

Subject: MRM Water Main Design

Hi Hassan,

I met with Molalla Ready Mix today about extending an existing water main 60-feet through their property on an easement adding a new fire hydrant.

There is an existing stamped and approved design for the water main but it was never fully constructed and terminated 60-feet short of the plan. The plans are out dated, but could be revised and approved to continue the water main the 60-ft as shown and include a new hydrant. MRM is currently looking to see if they have an electronic file of the existing approved plans.

Assuming the existing plans can be modified, is this work that your office could provide? All costs would be covered in full by MRM.

Thank you,

Jennifer Cline
