Hi Jenn,

This can be coordinated directly in the field with the concrete crew as they are well aware of the ADA requirements.

Thanks,

Subject: Sheet C15, Detail 4

Hi Hassan,

Looking at the Typical Driveway Section on Sheet C15 I notice the ramp width is identified as 5’. I would like to see this as 6’ minimum. The 6 feet ensures the city will meet the ADA 8.33% (12:1) maximum running slope. I have seen contractors have a very hard time meeting the 12:1 with the 5-ft ramps. A note should also be included “ The maximum extent feasible required to meet 8.33% (12:1) running slopes on all sidewalk ramps is a length up to 15 linear feet”.

Thanks,

Jennifer Cline, P.E.
