Subject: RE: Heintz St. - As builts
Jennifer,
Thanks very much for sending the as-builts. Based on our discussion yesterday and review of the as-builts, I’ve attempted to piece together the water lines that have been installed in the Heintz/Molalla intersection:
· The newer 12” PVC waterline in Molalla Ave, North of Heintz intersects the older 10” WL in Heintz Street. The valve is closed between the two lines when the new 10” line was installed.
· The new 10” PVC waterline in Heintz street was installed over the 12” PVC line but was not connected. As mentioned above, the valve between the old 10” PVC WL (Heintz) and the newer 12” PVC WL (Molalla) was closed because the old 10” AC line was abandoned with the installation of the 10” PVC replacement waterline.
· Per Sheet 1 of the 1982 as-builts, it is possible the 12” PVC was connected into a 4” WL in Molalla, south of the Heintz intersection (Main St to Heintz St). According to the City .kmz files, appears the 4” WL in Molalla may have been replaced with a 6” Cast iron waterline? Correct. If this is the case, we do not know if the existing 6” water line in Molalla is connected to the 12” PVC WL north of Heintz. The connection point is unknown. The 12” was visually seen crossing under the found concrete structure from the north to south on N Molalla.
If possible, the proposed 10” PVC WL should be connected to both the 12” PVC WL and the new 10” PVC WL along Heintz as part of the current project.
Please let me know if I have misinterpreted something or if you have additional information about this intersection.
Thank you!
