Hi Justin,

For whatever reason, I didn’t receive the chain of e-mails shown below.

Our project specifications call for truncated domes to be used on all new ADA ramps in compliance with the current ADA standards (we have worked together before on similar projects and we are aware of the ADA requirements), the city has recommended to use “Black” color truncated domes. The existing ADA ramps as shown or called out on the plans will be brought to current ADA standards. If you have any specific concerns, please point them out and we will be glad to address them.

On Stowers, I don’t know the history but it looks like they are the yellow concrete colored as opposed to the Vitrified Polymer Composite product by Armor-Tile. If it takes replacing the truncated dome mats to meet the 85% color contrast, we can do that.

Thanks,

Justin – I find ADA reconstruction and construction throughout the entire project area including truncated domes and details on C15.

On the Stowers section it looks like the truncated domes are glue down style. Can you or the city find out if the truncated dome were originally concrete colored? If not, do you happen to know what brand they are and date they were installed?

Thanks,

These plans do not address current ADA requirements. Existing ADA ramps must be brought to Current standards.

If the city does not address all ADA requirements I cannot reimburse for the project. Please note ADA requirements include truncated domes in contrasting color.

ADA ramps must call out ODOT RD drawings for 211 and Grange Ave. – ODOT permit may be required. – RD756 Option B is my recommendation

If you would like to discuss please contact me.
