Hi Mark,

I am planning to mail this letter to the Shirley’s in regards to the well test request. These are the same folks who had the problem after the spill in May. Their well is not up to standard and had to recently install a UV system to protect their drinking water. However the son is still claiming we are contaminating their well. After talking at length with Fisher’s supply who specialize in wells, it is highly unlikely the bacteria contamination is from the creek since E.coli is not present and the creek is full of it.

Additionally their well does not meet the required state standards, which requires a 1 foot of clearance from the ground and is old with possibly other issues. The presence of coliform is most likely from ground water contamination. It’s unfortunate that they do not fix their well. If anyone is on the same aquifer downstream, their leaky well could possibly contaminate others.

Note to self…. It’s best to live at the top of the hill. (Friday humor)

Thanks,
