Yes, we should consider the same path forward for the WWTP.
They already have another computer they can use to access the internet via the City access path.
We should remove internet access by uninstalling the browser software and not disconnecting the computer entirely. Disconnecting the computer entirely also removes our ability to support the control systems remotely and it eliminates the operator’s ability to remotely monitor their process.

We are discontinuing internet access from that computer to eliminate the possibility from this happening again.

We found several viruses on the WTP PC.
We removed those and installed anti viruses software.
There have been no more “issues” since this was done.
The error log about the crashes indicated some websites were visited that caused security errors. At the suggestion of Dell we changed some system settings to avoid that problem.
I think we will leave things as is for now. Hopefully the problem has been eliminated.

If we replace the hardware, that cost is covered by warranty.
Warranties do not cover the labor to reinstall the software unfortunately.

Hi Troy,
Can you have a tech come out an check the SCADA HMI on the computer. The crew is seeing the system crash at night and also freezes up. It then limits their abilities to check our total daily intake remotely.
The error message is staying DATA Communication Failure. They are getting the blue screen restart as well.
