Hi Keith,

Thank you for your feedback. I had a conversation with the shop crew last week and no one has approached me other than yourself. I will be sending out an email regarding the weekend duty changes once we have the details sorted out. If you no longer want to be on the Stand by list, no worries, you are able to "opt out" when the changes become effective. I don't believe the changes will be in effect until late October, early November.

Just to clarify we are not expecting folks to "give up" their weekends. When on Stand By, all employees need to be able to respond to a call within 30 minutes from their location in person.

Hope this clarifies your concerns, if you have any other questions, please stop by the office. I'm always happy to discuss concerns or give information.

Jenn

Hello Jenn

I understand you are very busy. My understanding is no one is talking about this issue. I think not talking is almost always a bad thing. I can not speak for the group. But I know that some options have been talked about. Is the city set on what is going to be done on this issue? I know myself I am having trouble giving up my Saturday and Sunday for 2 hours overtime pay. The increase in the overtime pay started with the last guy. I understand the city needing to cut overtime costs. I myself would like to see us come up with something that would work for both sides. But if no one is willing to talk I guess that will not work. I feel like I am stuck in the middle once again. Just my thoughts. Keith
