OOPS. I’m used to reports being in MG. Will put the units on the spreadsheet for future reference.
122.133 Ac-Ft in Sept 2015 (30 days) equals an average of 1.327 MGD or an average of 2.05 CFS. That’s better. So, you’re at 50% in September of your permit. You’ve got plenty of room provided they give you the full permit amount.

Did you mean 39.8 MG, which equates to 1.33 MGD?

Jenn,
The Reported Water Use for September is reported as 122.13 Acre-feet not in MGD. I believe our reported use for September 2015 was about 39.8 mgd.

Hi Jen,
I have a high level of confidence that we can get the Certificate for the Molalla River intake. There is a backlog due to OWR being inundated with applications from marijuana growers and we are pushing to take higher precedence as current holders of permits and municipal users. We’ll see how that goes. The Trout Creek transfer will likely be a function of installing a monitoring station to get the maximum water available or settle for a low fixed amount determined by OWR. I need to review the water use and confirm trends to see where the need vs. right is at. I’ll try to get that back to you by first part of next week or sooner. Looking at the log for September 2015, the total water used for the month was 122.133 MG which works out to an average of 4.07 MGD and an average draw of 6.3 CFS. The permit is only for 4 CFS at the current intake. There is some catching up on projects that needs to be done in order to get you back on track and there will need to be adequate funding in order to support it. Will get back to you on projections of what you will likely need.
One of the discussions in the old master plan was for the City to invest in wells and/or purchase other water rights. I don’t know if funds were set aside back in the 90’s to do that though I have a guess at that answer. Have a good evening and well discuss more later.

Subject: FW: Water usage for Ice Plant
Hi Gerald,
I spoke with Brad on the phone today in regards to water production for an ice plant. His demand needs are below, but wouldn’t happen until next year 2017.
What is the confidence level that the City could secure the Trout Creek water rights with a transfer around 3 cfs or more a day? Brad has a serious interest in building an ice plant in Molalla and is looking to purchase the property within the next month. I don’t want to make any promises, but rather give a level of confidence that the City could support the usage below.
Thanks,

Jennifer, Thank you for spending some time with me to discuss my potential business venture in Molalla. As we discussed I need to know if Molalla can provide sufficient water for my facility. Starting in the spring of 2017 we would require about 2000 gallons of water per day until June. In June the requirements would gradually increase to around 18000 gallons per day by August 1st. That would continue through mid September when the usage would drop back to 2000 gal/day until the next June. Our 5 year plan would have usage increasing up to a maximum of 50000 gal/day. We are excited at the potential of this project in the City of Molalla. Please let me know if this is a possibility. Thank you
