Ryan, would you say these items are prioritized by need?

Subject: Water projects 2016

Here is a list of some needed improvements at the WTP.

1. Filter #3 and #4 needs a lot of important updates and repairs. A lot of the Items on these filters are dated from 1978 and are mostly obsolete and/or tough to get parts for. The #3 Effluent pump is need of replacement as well as #4 effluent pump. Pumps are Identical 15 hp 3 phase 1755 RPM Jacuzzi pump Model # R15FL6-T we would need (2) of these. Packing glands are leaking and obsolete, they now have mechanical seals. Jacuzzi rep quoted me approx.. $3850.00 each for these + shipping.

2. Filter #3 and #4 also is in need of (2) 6” flow control valves dated 1978 .

3. Filter #3 and #4 need (1) replacement surface wash pump 3500 rpm.

4. All the actuators and controls for this equipment is in need up upgrading and original equipment from 1978. Replacement parts will be hard to track down or will need to be upgraded as they fail.

5. Filter #1 , we should consider getting a replacement effluent pump and motor. When that happens I would recommend we have the existing effluent pump and motor rebuilt as a backup. The effluent pump is a 15 hp 1175 rpm 460v 1400gpm electric motor brand is us motors pump brand is ITT A-C pump model 8100.

6. Chemical feed pumps and valves for Filter #1, #3,and #4. Total of (6) 5 gallon per hour Encore 700 chemical metering pumps. These are diaphragm pumps. The current pumps for filter #3 and #4 are now obsolete according to our rep and original equipment from 1978. We can currently get parts for the pumps for Filter #1 but pumps are in need of and upgrade or replacement. Along with pumps we would need the proper Pressure relief valves, backpressure valves, electric shut off solenoids, etc.

7. The effluent pipe for filter #3 and #4 is in need of repair. There is significant corrosion at the chlorine injection point.

8. We need to incorporate a filter to waste valve, piping, programming for filter #3 and #4. Currently when these filters come back online after a backwash we get a spike of high turbidity water that goes into the reservoirs (this still complies with drinking water regulations). If we had the ability to install “Filter to waste valve” and components we could send this water to our backwash pond instead.

9. Reservoir #1 and #2 need to have the level transducers replaced but should be relatively inexpensive so maybe we could do that this budget year.

This this doesn’t include other projects we have been talking about such as drilling a well and elevated reservoir, Trout creek flow monitoring station, replacement filter media, etc.

All of these components are vital to the operation of the treatment plant. Some Items should have been replaced long ago. Let me know if you need more details on these items.

Thanks
